100% agree. When the guy realized it, and whisper the OP, OP should've given him his plat instead of mocking him. OP had the choice to make it right and decided not to. Now OP is complaining about being banned. Go figure.

If the guy had no problem separating the ectos into 2 trades, I don't see why he would have had a problem making 3 trades. I don't think OP should have been banned. The long and the short of it is that the other guys hit 'accept' after being warned several times by his supposed scam artist.

I think the problem lies in that after the guy who reported him whispered him when he realized he was missing dough, OP decided to mock him instead of giving him the rest of the plat. If I'm the game master and I see those quotes I would've probably thought OP had done it on purpose and give him a ban.
Peace.

The GM that handed out the ban should have his account/ip/modem mac address terminated. Then relieved of any further position remotely resembling moderation of video games. Would make my day.

Because it's a question of whether or not the behavior was in fact "screwing the guy." If it truly is a case of incompetence, then it isn't a legitimate ban. If you go to the store and they offer you a discount even after pointing out the price, take the discount. It's their fault if they have erroneously priced an item.

It really doesn't matter what any of us think about it.
Plead your case to NCSoft support. Ultimately, the decision rests with them.
Avoid trading with dolts in the future.

And it's ENTIRELY up to the store to honor the discount (or their error). If the want the money or the product back, you're on the hook.
Peace.

IMHO, you deserved the ban. You agreed on X amount of ectos for X price. When the idiot called you on it, you should have jut paid up. You would have if he HAD split the trade to accomodate the 100K limit, right? (Another thing you could have done was refused to deal with him - there are plenty of other ecto farmers out there)
IMHO, I think 2 weeks is a bit excessive considering the circumstances. One week seems more fitting.
The problem you have, OP is that when it comes to these kinds of situations, my opinion, as well as everyone else's opinions, are meaningless.

To the OP, did you try to offer him the money after the trade that he asked for and did he decline? If you did, then you don't deserve the ban and he dealt with you maliciously and reported you out of context.
In the future, when dealing with any trade OVER 100K, I would suggest as one stated earlier to take screenshots of all chat and trading as a precaution. Who cares how long it takes you to hit submit and accept as long as the trade is done in the end. It might be tedious to take the 2 minutes between each trade to do that, but it's a lot better than no play for 2 weeks. Not to mention, without adequate evidence, there's no way you could get a ban relieved in the event something like this happened.
People are like that all the time in real life. Even then, you should carry a camera with you in the car, just a small disposable from the store. Most of the times cops can discern whether or not who hit who in a car accident, but it's always good to have a safeguard. (Cops = ANet, safeguard = screenshots in this metaphor xP)

No it's not. The second you leave the store that's it. End of. You can't be arrested for sellers incompetence.

His fault, you warned him 3 times and he didn't listen. If you had put the money in the first time and took it I would be on the other guys side but since you warned him, his bad. Always should check the trade before pushing accept and this guy obviously didn't have a brain since you warned him. So yeah, you shouldn't have been banned at all.

More his fault than yours, but you probably wouldn't have gotten a ban if you would have just ignored him after telling him what happened, instead of letting him engage you in "an estimated 20 minute conversation".

Without screens, I never believe something went down EXACTLY like one of the parties says it went down. That being said, if this happened exactly that way then yea you should have been banned but 2 weeks is a bit harsh - unless this isn't the first time for you. I doubt they'd throw down a 2 week ban for this unless you have priors.

True that. Every forum poster who says they got banned always tries to put themselves in the best light. That's why we don't allow threads like this, because they are always full of BS. The OP's story, if true, is a boarderline case. But really, there is no way I trust the OP's version of events in their entirety.

Maybe I'm one of a few who thinks that you deserve being punished.
You and the seller agreed on a price for the ectos. No matter how stupid the seller was for giving you 46e at once, you did not hold the agreement.
